At the end of President Xi Jiping’s state visit to Russia, on 5th July, the member of Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPPCC, the executive chairman of China International Cultural Communication Center Long Yuxiang met Chinese ambassador to Russia Li Hui in Russia, the two sides have conducted in-depth exchanges on the promotion and expansion of cooperation and communication in various fields between China International Cultural Communication Center and Russia. The executive director of Overseas Security Work Department of China International Cultural Communication Center, the chairman of the board of Kunlun Red Star Ice Hockey Club Zhao Xiaoyu, the president of Shenzhen Kunpeng Equity Investment Limited Company Peng Honglin, the secretary of the General office of China International Cultural Communication Center Xu Jinhai have also attended the meeting.

Long Yuxiang firstly expressed his thanks to ambassador Li for his attention and help to China International Cultural Communication Center over these years. He said: “ President Xi Jinping stressed that China and Russia have adhered to the spirit of good neighborliness and friendship and cooperation for many years, which set up a model for relations between great powers and neighboring countries. The ever-lasting friendship and win-win cooperation between China and Russia are not only the historical choice of the two peoples, but also the realistic need for lasting peace, common prosperity, openness and inclusiveness. China International Cultural Communication Center will continue to spread the traditional friendship between China and Russia, promote pragmatic cooperation between the two countries so as to enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples. This time “Silk Road Cup -- Super Ice Hockey League” jointly organized by the Center and Russian Super League, uses the ice hockey as a medium to promote the communication between the two countries in sports field, helping push forward the development and popularization of ice hockey in China and the active preparation at 2022 Winter Olympics. I am looking forward to the deeper communication and cooperation between the Center and Russia in various fields, presenting the excellent Chinese culture to Russia people and enhancing the traditional friendship between China and Russia.”

Ambassador Li expressed his respect for the contributions made by China International Cultural Communication Center on promoting the communication and cooperation between China and Russia in cultural, educational, economic and trade, sports and other fields. He said: “in recent year, under the strategic guidance of the heads of the two countries, the comprehensive strategic cooperation partners between China and Russia have maintained stable, sustained and high-level development, and pragmatic cooperation in various fields has been steadily promoted, benefiting the two countries and the two peoples. In this year we mark the 20th anniversary of the founding of Sino-Russian Friendship Committee for Peace and Development and the 60th anniversary of the founding of Russian-Chinese Friendship Association. Also, this year is the end of the year of “Sino-Russian media exchange year”, the two sides have been formulated and carried out a series of colorful activities to further promote the mutual communication and friendship between the two peoples and consolidate the social and public opinion foundation of Sino-Russian relationships. At this time, “Silk Road Cup -- Super Ice Hockey League”, jointly organized by the Center and Russian Super League, is regarded as the “ice hockey diplomacy”, which has strongly complemented the official diplomacy of China. And it serves an irreplaceable role in deepening the friendship and enhancing the understanding between the two countries, which will also be strong support to 2022 Winter Olympics. I hope that China International Cultural Communication Center will bring excellent Chinese culture to Russia and also invite outstanding cultural groups in Russia to China, laying a broader basis of popular opinion for the communication and cooperation in other fields.
