CICCC to conduct charitable activities in Fuqing, Fujian

       Party group secretary and concurrent executive chairman of China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC), chairman of Chinese Charity Project Committee Long Yuxiang visited Fuqing, Fujian Province on 4th, Dec, 2012. The delegation was received and accompanied by vice mayor of Fuqing Yu Dajun, General Director of the Civil Administration Bureau of Fuqing city Zhang Zhongqin and other cadres of local party committee and government agencies to the home for the elderly, conveying greetings and care to people live in it.

     The delegation was made up by well-known calligraphers, painters and philanthropic entrepreneurs of CICCC. They made inspection on living conditions of the people in this welfare institution, discussing with them in terms of their health, spiritual conditions and other matters. Long Yuxiang said to them: I am very glad to see that you are in reasonable health and good mood. Long urged the staff to work more responsibility and comprehensively so that to ensure persons living here have better life. He emphasized the gist of 18th National Congress of the CPC, calling for more action in fulfilling the goals set up by the Congress, in realizing a relative well-off society in the near future. Chinese society is entering a stage in which aging population makes up a big proportion of society. How to look after those in their old age is becoming a matter of great importance. China has a long tradition of respect the elderly. It is an indispensable part of the mission of building a harmonious society with Chinese characteristics. And it is a duty to be shouldered by the whole society. Staff of the welfare institution should pay more attention to their duties during winter. They should check the doors and windows regularly to make sure all those facilities working properly to serve the people. Their clothes should be regularly cleaned. Old things should be replaced by the new. All their concerns and worrying, such as eating, living, health care, should be taken care of by the institution. We should try our best to give them an enjoyable life in their old years. The delegation later presented a greeting fund with them. Calligraphers and painters produced works for them. Their visiting and gifts were most welcomed by the staff and residents.
